More Fun Stuff From This Week’s Podcast
About the Picture: One of my favorite photos from Le Cellier Steakhouse is this Filet with mushroom risotto and truffle butter sauce!

loved the reviews!
Great reviews of the steakhouses! Steakhouse 55 is a must-dine experience for us as well. My wife is a vegetarian, and enjoys the fish they serve, but she’s also decided that maybe once a year she can eat meat, if it’s at Steakhouse 55.
I love the onion soup as well; I believe they pour the soup over the cheese and breadcrumbs. I also recommend the au gratin potato brick, and the crab cakes.
Normally, I can’t save room for dessert, but last time, we did order the chocolate cake. It lives up to its reputation, but I recommend ordering it if you can keep leftovers in a fridge. Trying to eat it all at once is madness.
On the subject of Brad, I don’t think he should be banned from making jokes. He should, however, be banned from being annoying. That would include trying to force corny jokes into the opening, repeating things that AJ says word for word as if that, in itself, is funny, and whining about people not liking his jokes. When he’s not trying so hard, he’s really entertaining, insightful, and funny. When he is trying, he’s the podcast’s biggest liability, even more so than the occasionally-too-long musical bridges.
Finally, I have a question for a future podcast: my wife and I are visiting WDW next January. What are your favorite recommendations for vegetarian options, at any of the WDW parks, at any restaurant?
Thanks!
Thanks Laurie!
Another great episode. When I saw the title of the episode I was hoping for more information on the Yachtsman Steakhouse. I have an ADR there in November.
Good review of LeCellier with pros and cons. Going there the first time in November and can’t wait to try the filet.
Linda — Can’t wait to hear what you think!
JoAnn — We do love Yachtsman Steakhouse! I’m sure that will make it into another show! I can’t wait to hear what you think of the restaurant!
Andrew — Thanks for your feedback. I do look forward to that chocolate layer cake. We’ll get your vegetarian question into the queue for the podcast, and we’ll work on the musical bridges.
I so love this podcast, and web-site! All of the information is great!
I am a classically trained chef, life long foodie and Disney addict! This site and podcast bring all of may passions together and you do a GREAT JOB!
Thanks so much for all that you do!
Lisa
Another entertaining episode!
The reviews didn’t really seem any different than what you normally do, which is give great information about the restaurants. If you want it more like a review maybe break it down into sections discussing atmosphere, service, tastiness of the food, overall bang for your buck.
Keep up the awesome work!
-JoAnne: The Yachtsman Steakhouse has actually surpassed The California Grill as my favorite restaurant at WDW. The California Grill still has better atmosphere than the Yachtsman but the food was better at the Yachtsman.
Keith
Another great episode. I am looking forward to Episode 7 already.
I was hoping the reviews would be, for lack of a better word, more “reviewish”. You gave the great restaurant info you always give, but it did not have the getting down to the nitty gritty critique feel of a review. That being said, I have never felt the show lacked quality restaurant information. You have given us lots of great ideas for places to try when we finally get to Disneyland.
I am anxiously awaiting a Food & Wine Festival Preview / Review Show. 117 days until we are there!
All the best!
I haven’t listened to this episode yet, but it was really great!
This was more of a rundown than a LC vs 55 showdown. And does this imply that Shula’s and Yachtsman are lesser choices?
Can we follow up with JohnW? I can’t be the only one that wants more info.
Is he a local looking for fresh ideas? Just being prepared for a possible Affair to Remember scenario? Or is a trip to WDW going to be part of said first date?
Lisa — Thank you SO much for the great review!
Keith — Great feedback! We can break it down more next time!
Lori — Thank you! We just taped episode 7 yesterday and it’s a good one! On our next review episode, we’ll dig deeper
notchris — Ha ha! We’ll try to follow up with John W and get you the inside scoop!! And, no, I don’t think yachtsman and shula’s are lesser choices at all. We just knew we wouldn’t have time to cover everything.
Great show you two. Regarding Le Cellier, the last view meals we have had there have not been up to par in my opinion, and I have commented on the same over on Grownups, but I would not consider us “Haters” of Le Cellier. We are even going to try it again for lunch this time in November for the Candlelight Processional package.
I have actually had my best ever steak, a Filet, at The Turf Club in Saratoga Springs Resort. That is an excellent restaurant and very much a hidden gem. Easy to get in without a reservation and quality as good as any of the signature restaurants.
Good job once again! Keep up the good works.
Great show, I too would love some Vegetarian tips – I’m vegetarian but my parents aren’t so pleasing all of us is very difficult!
Also – greetings from the UK! I found your chat on Rose and Crown’s Yorkshire Puddings very amusing being from Yorkshire myself and having them (almost) every Sunday!
Another great episode! I agree that Steakhouse 55 is the dark horse contender for best restaurant at DLR. Napa Rose was good, but we love Steakhouse 55! The atmosphere is so quiet and relaxing, and, as you pointed out, the history just makes you feel like you’re in a special place.
Another great show! And the “stuff” in the bottom of the Steakhouse 55 7 Onion Soup “pre-pour” bowl is cheese. The onion and broth are poured on top of it at your table. BEST thing on the menu!!!
Another great one!!!!
