Listener Questions:
Janice H: Is there anywhere in WDW that you can get beef Wellington? I’m dying to try it.
Kelly A: My Mom and I are heading out to California at the end of August. It’ll be my 2nd trip and my Mom’s 1st trip. We’ll have 4 solid days to spend in the parks. SO…where do you suggest we check out for some good counter service? What are your favorites that are must-haves each trip?
Tracey C: I live in Australia and will be coming to WDW in early December with my daughter, to celebrate her high school graduation. I keep hearing about the fantastic view of IllumiNations from dinner at the Rose & Crown. Our 180 day window has opened for our stay and I have been trying to book dinner there, but there is nothing availablet. Is there something going on at the Rose & Crown? Is there anywhere else that you recommend to view the fireworks (during dinner)?
More Fun Stuff From This Week’s Podcast
About the Picture: This is the Matterhorn Macaroon from Disneyland! Once sold at Blue Ribbon Bakery, it’s got a new home — in clear view of the Matterhorn itself — at Jolly Holiday Bakery.
Music This Week: The bumper music in this week’s podcast is from all over the place again — Space Mountain, Tower of Terror, Toy Story, Frontierland

I guess I’ll be kept in suspense what the other mystery snack is in DCA I hope you’ll share what it is before the 2nd week of Aug when I make my way to DLR. Oh well, at the very least there is Trader Sam’s! Thanks AJ.
We are heading to WDW in October/November (will be my 24th time going) and we are leaving a few days before my mom’s birthday. We are getting the QS dining plan this time (staying at Art of Animation) but I want to book Kona since she loves it there. I also wanted to get a little cake or cupcake for her. How would I go about doing this?
Jon — Ha ha! I’ll have to listen to the podcast again to see what I was thinking of. I think it was the caramel corn that you can find at some of the DCA kiosks! It’s amazing! And, yes, you must go to Trader Sam’s!
Mary — When you arrive at Kona Cafe, you can ask the server (discreetly) to bring a celebration cupcake for your mom. If you’d rather do a cake, here are some great Disney World Cake details!
Another wonderful mystery treat at Disneyland…mozzarella sticks. They’re sold at the Stage Door Cafe and the Golden Horseshoe, but they’re not on the menu. Wonderful fried cheese sticks of yumminess…
AJ, will there be an ebook in the future for Disneyland/DCA?
Jennifer — Great mystery snack! Also, that big ol chocolate cake at Golden Horseshoe! Yep, we’ll be doing a Disneyland/DCA book in the future!
AJ – Are the corn dog nuggets @ Casey’s Corner a snack
credit on the DDP?
How about the ice cream cookie sandwich at Main Street Bakery and Sleepy Hollow?
Kimberly — Corn dog nuggets are not, but ice cream cookie sandwiches are a snack credit. At least for now!
Hey, AJ! Love the blog and the podcast, keep up the great work! As a former MGM CM (back in the Pleistocene Epoch), I’ve always wanted some of the Brown Derby’s grapefruit cake to be sold at Starring Rolls (or at least a grapefruit-cake-cupcake), but no such luck. However, two (not really mystery snacks, but they’re too good not to mention) snacks that Starring Rolls has are the Black Forest Ham Sandwich and the Praline Cheesecake. I admit I haven’t been to WDW since 2005 (I know, the horror!), but I hope these are still there. They were very good back then. Thanks again for the great sites!
Colin — Those are great tips! I’ve heard that you CAN get a slice of the grapefruit cake at Starring Rolls from time to time. I’ll have to look into it!
<3 the podcast! im always looking forward to a new one to listen to on my drive to work.
Question.. i made reservations for my bday for california grill sept1 @ 9:35pm and cinderella royal table the next day at 1pm. How can i get the best out of those places? Arrive early and ask for a window table? And what kind of foods i should definitely try? thank you!
m — Thanks for the compliments!! Yes, definitely arrive early and ask for those window tables! Especially Cali Grill! Menus are always changing up at Cali Grill, and I’m not sure about lunch at Cinderella’s (I’ve been there for breakfast and dinner). At Cali Grill, the goat cheese ravioli is amazing! 😉
Not sure if you’ll see this comment, since it’s several months after the podcast..but it’s really funny that at the beginning you mention listeners might have a backlog to listen to. Yes! That’s true for me! I get the Facebook updates, but have missed out on any that mention podcasts. Not to worry – following you on Twitter now and subscribed via iTunes. No more backlog!
Also, the corn dog nuggets are the only reason we go to Casey’s Corner. We moved to a country where corn dogs aren’t a thing, so we endeavor to eat some form of corn dog every day of our trip when we are in WDW or DL!
Love the podcast – keep ’em coming!
